Ethereal Current is a generative AI installation that reimagines the Shiva Linga — an ancient symbol of creation, infinite consciousness, and cosmic energy — as a living, computational sculpture.
In this work, sacred geometry meets neural networks: custom AI models translate datasets of temple architecture, Himalayan landscapes, and devotional iconography into fluid, light-based architectures that continuously transform.
The Shiva Linga emerges not as a static relic, but as a dynamic field of data and light, pulsing like a cosmic heart. The female figure, both human and algorithmic, inhabits these environments as an intermediary between tradition and the post-human future — a digital priestess channeling the timeless into the yet-to-be.
The result is an atmosphere where spirituality and computation converge: the stillness of meditation rendered through the motion of code.
Lingam as Living Code
In Ethereal Current, the Shiva Linga is reborn through the lens of generative AI — not as stone, but as a mutable, luminous entity composed of photons and algorithms.
Drawing from centuries of sacred architecture, tantric geometry, and meditative symbolism, the work uses neural networks to sculpt dynamic temples of light, each in a constant state of becoming.
Here, the Linga is both axis mundi and data conduit — a bridge between the physical and digital, the ancient and the yet-unrealized. The surrounding environments, generated from vast datasets of Himalayan landscapes, ritual objects, and cosmic patterns, breathe with subtle motion: clouds drift, water shimmers, light dilates and contracts as if in meditation.
